This smart battery charger is engineered to automatically sense the cell's charge level, enabling it to choose the appropriate voltage and charging routine for efficient power transfer. It also determines the cell's capacity and modifies the charging current accordingly. Once a cell is fully topped up, the charger automatically ceases the charge to extend the battery's lifespan.

For enhanced security, the $\text{Ci}2$ charger integrates multiple safeguards, including protection against reverse polarity, short-circuit issues, overly discharged cells, and over-time charging.
